The media industry is made up of 2.3 million. The reason it needs so many roles to work is because if not then it simply wouldnt work. media needs people to make apps websites, to monitor the apps, update the apps, on platforms like tik tok and you tube we need infuencers or the apps wouldnt be usefull.

2 job roles that I would choose

Art director - Art Directors are responsible for the creation and development of advertising ideas, with particular focus on their visual appearance. These ideas can exist in many formats from posters and print advertisements, to TV commercials, cinema, radio, experiential, Direct Marketing leaflets, mobile applications and websites. The Art Director combines artistic sensibilities and understanding with knowledge of design and production processes to create work that engages those it is aimed at. They ensure messages are strengthened by conveying meaning visually, as well as through the accompanying words.

Art Directors come from a variety of backgrounds, although will typically have a degree or postgraduate in a relevant subject such as creative advertising, or design. Those studying on dedicated advertising courses will often form partnerships with a Copywriter while studying. They will then look for a first job as a team. This is done by developing a 'book', or portfolio, of work to show Creative Directors at meetings and interviews.

Skills that I have to suit this role Is media level 2 diploma and hopfully a level 3 at the end of next year. I have some experiance with adobe softwears as well.

Artworker - Artworkers produce the design that designers create. It could be a website, it could be a poster, it could be anything! It might be part of the document or all of it. The role is extremely varied.

You don't have to have a degree to become an artworker. You may have been to college. You do have to be very accurate in your work and have a good knowledge of computer graphics software.

Skills that I have to suit this role Is media level 2 diploma and hopfully a level 3 at the end of next year. I have some experiance with adobe softwears as well. I also am creative so would think of good ideas.

Work experience

work experience is very important because it helps you develop skills like communication and teamwork.
To have work experience you need to have at least 30 hours of volintiered work anywhere
Having work experience is a good think to have on your cv and can get you a job.

One place i would love to get some work expierience at is vinewood studios because it is what I am interested in and its a big company so would look great on my cv.
The second place I would love to get work experience would be marlow studios. for the same reason as vinewood but marlow isnt as big of a company.

Methods of working

the 4 main ways of working in creative media is Full-time, Voluntary, Part-Time, Freelance

A Full-time job would be a job that you have for a long time and work more then 35 hours a week and you would get most of your income from. The pros of a full time job is you get a more money then the other 4 job types and you get pay rises and bonuses and paid leave. cons of Full-time jobs is that you dont get a lot of tim eoff other then the weekends and paid leave which you only get a sertain amount of.

Part-time jobs are any jobs that you would work less then 35 hours a week for. These jobs are usually temporary. sometimes you can get pay rises and bonuses but this isnt garanteed. the cons of this type of job is you get a lot of time off as your not working ever day of the week or for a full day but sometimes you have to work on the weekends as well.

Voluntary work is work that you can do full time or part time but you dont get paid for it. Cons of this is that you dont get any income for doing the job but a pro is that you are helping out somewhere and getting work expierience.

Freelance is when you are self enployed and dont work for any specific company and just work for clients they would like to work for and projects they want to do. pros of this is that you get to have the freedom of working for who you like and a con is that some people might not whant to take you to work for them sometimes.

four ways to get a job in creative media:

* networking is where you create a website portfolio or a social media account selling yourself to companies that might need more clients.

* Job websites are websites such as Indeed, Total Jobs and more.where you can apply for different jobs with your cv and wait for a reply.

*word of the mouth is when you go into whatever job your going to apply for and give them your cv and ask if they need any more job roles.

*apprentiships are good for getting a job because after youve finnished the apprentiship they most likley will offer you a full time job after.

Why is a covering letter/email important?

A cover letter is important because it gives you the chance to explain to the employer why you are the best candidate for the job. It has all of your skills on it and why you would be a good employee.

Create an example of a covering letter/email for a dream Creative Media
job.

Explain what a CV [Curriculum Vitae] is why it is an essential component to
help finding a job/career.

A cv is an essential when applying for a job because it tells the employer all of your details like your GCSE grades, what work experience you have, your past jobs, your skills, hobbies, what education your in and more.

Interview skills

Explain the interview process and how it works for both parties [employer &
prospective employee.]

The hiring manager usually does the first in-person interview. A first-stage interview focuses on a candidate's qualifications, employment history, and experience. If successful, the candidate will progress to another round of interviews with managers and staff members.

Explain the different forms of job interviews

One to Ones interviews - This is where you are just talking to the hiring manager one to one.

Group Interviews - Group interviews can include both multiple interviewers and multiple candidates. As a group, you may be asked to answer typical interview questions, but you may also be put to the test.

Panel Interview - A panel interview is when two or more people interview you at the same time

Remote video interview - Remote interviews are conducted when an interviewer and a candidate are in different locations.

What preparation should you carry out prior to an interview and why?

  • read the job description carefully and understand what skills and experience the employer is looking for.
  • do some research on the company's website.
  • look over your CV or application form and think about what the interviewer might ask you.

On the day of an interview, what key points could help you succeed? [both
prior to and during the process]

  • Research the company and industry. Employers gauge your interest and motivation by how much you know about their organization.
  • prepare the key points you want to communicate during the interview.
  • Practice your interviewing skills

What questions could you ask an employer in an interview situation and why?

What is the company culture like? You would ask this to get an idea of what working at the place is like

Have I answered all of your questions? You would ask this to make sure you have told the employer everything they need to know.
